Veil of Perception (2011-2012)
“Like the orchestral background music that’s played in movies which we hear but not listen to, my mind’s eye projects what I see but not look into.”
The ‘Veil of Perception’ series was made in 2012 during the final year of my BA (Hons) Painting course in Wimbledon College of Art. These works were part of an exploration of fictional psychological spaces, focusing on the contradictory peaceful yet unsettling aspect of these uninhabited spaces; and that without the distraction of living inhabitants, the mind turns to focus on the mundane things and their intervening qualities in a barren space, leaving the possibility of self-manifestation of both anxiety and tranquility within a ‘peace of mind’ setting.
